Vinton, Louisiana

                                                                                                            May 26, 2016

 

                        The Mayor and Council of the Town of Vinton, Louisiana, met in special session at the regular meeting place of said Mayor and Council, in the Town Hall, Vinton, Louisiana, at 6:00 P.M., on the 26th day of May 2016, after full compliance with all requirements as to notice and otherwise in respect to convening of said meeting with the following members present:

 

                                                Kenneth O. Stinson, Mayor

                                                Bliss Bujard, Council Member

                                                William “BB” Loyd, Mayor Pro Tem

                                                Kevin Merchant, Council Member

                                               

                                                                                                                                                                                    ABSENT:          Marcus Renfrow, Council Member

                                                Paul Patin, Council Member

 

            ALSO PRESENT:         None

 

                                    Kenneth Stinson, Mayor called the meeting to order and reported that the purpose of the meeting was as follows:

 

1.        To discuss and/or transact business pertinent to exception to the Mobile Home Ordinance for flood victim.

 

 

                         Mayor Stinson reported that he had been contacted by FEMA regarding placing a FEMA trailer at 1322 Gum Cove Road for Mrs. Norma Granger, a victim of the recent Sabine River Flooding.  He stated that the mobile home is approximately 560 square feet which is in violation of the Mobile Home Ordinance.

 

                        After discussion, it was moved by Council Member Merchant to issue an exception to the Mobile Home Ordinance to allow for a FEMA trailer at 1322 Gum Cove Road for a period of 6 months.  If there is still a need after 6 months, a request for an extension would have to be requested.  The motion was seconded by Council Member Loyd and carried.

 

                        There being no further business to come before the governing authority, it was moved by Council Member Loyd that the meeting be adjourned.  The motion was seconded by Council Member Bujard and carried.
