Vinton, Louisiana

                                                                                                            June 1, 2010

 

                        The Mayor and Council of the Town of Vinton, Louisiana, met in special session at the regular meeting place of said Mayor and Council, in the Town Hall, Vinton, Louisiana, at 6:00 P.M., on the 1st day of June, 2010, after full compliance with all requirements as to notice and otherwise in respect to convening of said meeting with the following members present:

 

                                                Kenneth O. Stinson, Mayor

                                                Bliss Bujard, Council Member

                                                Harold R. Douga, Council Member

                                                William “BB” Loyd, Council Member

                                                Kevin Merchant, Council Member

                                                Paul Patin, Council Member

                                                                                                                                                                                    ABSENT:        None

 

            ALSO PRESENT:       Thad Minaldi, Town Attorney   

 

                                                           

                        Kenneth Stinson, Mayor called the meeting to order and reported that the purposes of the meeting were as follows:

 

1.      Executive Session regarding pending litigation.

 

                        It was moved by Council Member Merchant that the regular meeting be recessed for an executive session regarding pending litigation.  The motion was seconded by Council Member Loyd and carried.

 

                        It was moved by Council Member Merchant that the special meeting be re-convened.  The motion was seconded by Council Member Douga and carried.

 

                        Mayor Stinson announced that the pending litigation with AERR had been discussed in executive session.

 

                        It was moved by Council Member Loyd and seconded by Council Member Bujard that the recent payment to the Town by GOHSEP/FEMA of $80,665.81, (90% of the obligated total for PW) of the additional funds obligated by FEMA after the Town’s first appeal on the drainage lateral-Hurricane Rita claim, be paid to AERR with correspondence containing the express provision that such a payment is a principal payment on the AERR-Hurricane Rita contract for the cleaning of storm debris from the Town’s drainage laterals.  The vote cast thereon was as follows:

                        NAYS:  None

 

                        ABSENT:  None

 

 

 

 

 

                        There being no further business to come before the governing authority, it was moved by Council Member Patin that the meeting be adjourned.  The motion was seconded by Council Member Loyd and carried.
