Public Officials Swearing-In 2017

On June 23, 2017 the new Town Council was sworn in at City Hall. The council included Paul Patin, Bliss Bujard, “B.B.” Loyd, Patrick Vice, and Stephanie Hardy. Police Chief Ricky Fox and Mayor Kenneth Stinson were also sworn in for new terms.

On Friday, 6 October 2017, was the Homecoming Parade in honor of the Vinton High School football team.

Vinton Heritage Festival 2017

The annual Vinton Heritage Festival took place on 14 October 2017. People enjoyed live entertainment, plenty of food, games, and a petting zoo for the children. We had a large turn-out and warm, clear weather.

Halloween Trunk or Treat 2017

For Halloween in 2017, the Town of Vinton put on a Trunk or Treat event in the downtown area. Part of Horridge Street was blocked off and trick or treaters could get candy from people parked along the street. There was also a haunted house, a popular attraction.

Christmas Parade 2017

The Town had its annual Christmas Parade on Friday, December 8, 2017. After the parade, there were cookies, cocoa, and coffee in front of First Baptist Church followed by singing carols.
